Shake Shack is growing fast: from roughly 700 restaurants today toward a goal of 1,500, adding 60+ new locations this year alone. That growth put pressure on something easy to overlook: getting a message from corporate to the person on the grill.
Before Blink, updates traveled shack manager to shack manager, restaurant to restaurant, the way a rumor spreads down a line. Something got lost every time. The team was also running several disconnected tools, each with its own login, which made frontline workers less likely to use any of them consistently.

Shake Shack built the platform with their operators, not just for them. They branded their instance with Shake Shack's own colors and photography. Before the company-wide launch, they brought around 300 shack leaders and operators together for a two-day summit and used the app to run the event itself: schedules, push notifications, and photo sharing all lived in the platform. Those leaders were already active users by the time the rest of the company came on board.
"We knew we needed a platform that had a dynamic, engaging interface that would appeal to our workforce. Access, integration, and community: that's what keeps people coming back."
